BICSI

BICSI is a professional association supporting the information technology systems (ITS) industry. ITS covers the spectrum of voice, data, electronic safety & security, project management and audio & video technologies. It encompasses the design, project management and installation of pathways, spaces, optical fiber- and copper-based distribution systems, wireless-based systems and infrastructure that supports the transportation of information and associated signaling between and among communications and information gathering devices.

BICSI provides information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies in the ITS industry. We serve more than 23,000 ITS professionals, including designers, installers and technicians. These individuals provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, life safety and automation systems. Through courses, conferences, publications and professional registration programs, BICSI staff and volunteers assist ITS professionals in delivering critical products and services, and offer opportunities for continual improvement and enhanced professional stature.

GENIE GROUP

The Genie Group was incorporated in 1984 by a group of independent electronic distributors. It was their idea to combine sales and resources to gain collective buying power to compete successfully with larger organizations. What started with six members has grown to 93 members with over 300 branch locations. The Genie Group aligns itself with 44 premier suppliers and is the largest electronic marketing group in the U.S. with collective buying power over $1 billion. Genie has a centralized distribution center in Franklin, TN that their members can easily access by linking on-line to their computer system and is a solutions provider with complete e-commerce capability.

EDGE GROUP

Edge is a distributor-owned buying and marketing group with the strength, expertise, inventory, and sales equivalent to national distributors. They have strategic partnerships with top industry manufacturers and. The Edge Group connects more than 140 independent distributors in the datacom, CCTV/security, low voltage, electronic MRO, and electronic OEM industries. Collectively, Edge distributors have more than 1,120 stocking locations, $156 million in inventory, and more than $1.2 billion in annual sales. Edge was formed to combat many of the same challenges independent distributors still deal with today, while giving suppliers greater access to markets more quickly and cost effectively. Edge has grown strong because of the support received from the member owners and suppliers.
